The American Koi Judges Association (AKJA), a non-profit organization, maintains a program of certified and to certify, Koi hobbyists from the United States and Canada.
These Judges are willing to travel anywhere on the continent to Judge your Koi Show. Also, many of them are willing to educate and share their knowledge and experience on a wide variety of subjects.
Under most circumstances, the Judge will provide his/her own transportation to and from his/her home town to your location at their own expense. But, if the trip involves overnight accommodations; it is expected that the club provide, at their expense any such necessary accommodations.
For information concerning the Judging Certification Program, obtaining Judges for your Show or for Speakers for your speacial Koi events, please contact Dale R Gingerich, AKJA committee chairman.

Dale Gingerich joined the judging program in 2009 as a candidate judge and became AJKA certified in 2012.

He first became interested in koi in the early 1990s with his father's pond in Canada, and has been keeping his own koi since the early 2000s.

He is a member of the IKONA Koi Club, the Middle Georgia Koi Society, and ZNA SKA, and an honorary member of ZNA Potomac. He is a founding member of the IKONA Koi Club, served as first president of IKONA, and is
currently the club's webmaster.

Dale has attended koi shows and events in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.

He and his wife, Patti, often show their own koi when they attend shows that he is not judging. Dale and Patti both enjoy working at koi shows, Dale with the benching team and Patti with the computerized fish registration, and treasure the many friendships they have developed working at shows over the years, and have become members of the show team for the ZNA Potomac, Atlanta, Louisville, and Middle Georgia shows.  Dale has served as head bencher for many koi shows over the years as a prelude and in preparation for his entry into the candidate judging program.

He has been named as the IKONA Koi Person of the Year, received the Koi Society/American Koi Keeper Member Show Club Award from ZNA Potomac. He has attended several judging seminars. Dale also serves as the
webmaster for AKJAOnline and a few other Koi Clubs as well and is proud to be a certified koi judge and member in the AKJA.

Dale and Patti have three children, two grandchildren, a pond of koi, a cat named Elie-Mae and of course their bloodhound named Otis Campbell.
